Saint John Vacations
Saint John, Canada’s oldest incorporated city, is New Brunswick’s major industrial center and the lone city on the majestic Bay of Fundy. One of the seven wonders of North America, the Bay of Fundy is home to the highest tides on earth, flourishing sea life, and dinosaur fossils. There is essentially no other place in the Maritimes where the urban charms of an energetic, memorable city settle up against the terrific, common appeal of this well-known Bay.

What To Do
Be sure to visit Fallsview Park, which is a standout among other areas to witness the Reverse Rapids. The Reverse Rapids occur as the tides of the Bay of Fundy force the waters at the mouth of the St. John River to reverse its flow. You can witness this phenomenon from solid ground, or from the air via zip-line for the ultimate adventure.
Take a trip to Saint John City Market, which is home to the oldest farmers’ market in North America, with its rafters resembling the inverted hull of a ship.
Take a tour of the New Brunswick Museum. This museum houses a variety of artifacts from maritime history, local art, and the popular Hall of Great Whales.
Explore the Irving Nature Park, a gem of Saint John’s historic west side. The 600-acre peninsula of volcanic rock and forest is home to many types of marine birds, and is a hiker’s paradise.
Attend the 506 Festival that spotlights everything New Brunswick is, from culture, art, culinary and music. The event takes place each August.
